I agree, Houston is much better than Calgary, though when I’m there I often think the locals must have some kind of Canuck envy. They blast their blasted air conditioning co cold that people have to wear sweaters at work.

Anyway, yes, Houston is far better, so everyone please move there. Calgary has become far too crowded and needs to downsize.

We do some wishful thinking while working on a tan by the pool then we go to the mall to see fake snow by the “Take a Picture with Santa” booth.

Tell us about -50 in the winter when you get there. Cold is violence on my body. At least if we lose electricity, it’s not life-threatening. Speaking of other life-threatening conditions, I can always pack heat legally if I feel the need.

I’m surprised that you would stoop to sarcasm to malign our fair city of Houston. But, since you insist.

* In Houston, we get time off from work (and possibly everything else) when a hurricane comes to visit.
* In Houston, we don’t really have to deal with that whole “seasons thing”. Most of the year is summer, we have a couple of weeks of “winter”, and a handful of days nice enough to be called spring or fall. Calgary probably has a real winter.

Glad you haven’t lost what we’ll choose to call your sense of humor.

For skiing/snowboarding, you will find that Sunshine Village near Banff has better snow and more powder than Louise does. But when snow conditions are good at Louise, after a really big dump, I prefer to go there. The runs and views are better at Lake Louise IMO. But snow is generally better at Sunshine.

In my kitchen, I had to permanently disable the fire alarm! I know that’s not proper and could probably void my insurance policy… but, at this point, the firemen and I are on a first-name basis. You wouldn’t think you could set a kitchen on fire while boiling water ;-)

Moi j’ai un moule a tatin Maton très bien, qui vient avec une recette. Anti-adhésif d’une seule piece, avec un socle bien épais pour aller sur la cuisinière, et ensuite au four. Regarde sur http://www.achetezfacile.com/moules-a-tatin/ . J’ai pas trouver de site pour Maton, il vende peut-être que sur catalogue… A+, –DD

I know your “boeuf bourguignon” and I know it is great. “Tarte tatin” is another piece of cake (if I can wrote that) and I tried only once to prepare it. My attempt did not end up with firefighters around the kitchen but, if I remember well, pan died in the struggle too. I’m wondering if “Tarte tatin” is not the main evil in this story in fact. ;-)

You know, I tried multiple times to create a personal blog and failed miserably at every attempt because I had nothing to say. Now, using this medium to communicate with friends that I have left behind seems efficient and I focus on things I would tell them if I was on the phone with them.

Given private messages I receive, I am sure that there is material for many blogs out there…
